economy plus for continental OnePass Elite members

United Continental Holdings announced that it intends to introduce the product into Continental aircraft beginning next year.
"Our customers value Economy Plus and the additional personal space that it provides," said UCH Chief Revenue Officer Jim Compton. "Customers who sit in Economy Plus are significantly more satisfied with their travel experience."
Continental airlines frequent flyer elite members will be permitted to assign seats in United’s Economy Plus section anytime before departure. Seat assignments may be requested anytime from booking through check-in and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. OnePass Elite members will be able to designate one companion to receive Economy Plus seating on the same flight that the Elite member is traveling on. The companion must be on the same reservation as the Elite member.Any published fare class on United is eligible for Economy Plus seating for OnePass Elite members.
United introduced Economy Plus in 1999, offering up to five inch of additional seat pitch in the forward section of the economy class cabin. Customers with elite status in UA's Mileage Plus and CO's OnePass frequent-flyer programs may confirm seat assignments in Economy Plus when available. Customers may also purchase seat assignments in Economy Plus.
UA offers Economy Plus on all 359 mainline aircraft and more 150 large regional jets operated by codeshare partners. UCH said that when the multi-year conversion program is complete, Economy Plus will be offered on more than 700 mainline aircraft.
